Looking for an internship has turned into more of a headache than anything else. I am searching for one but I am also trying to keep an idea of what I really want to be doing in mind.
I interviewed with Casey Cid at Media Thirty Seven and I was actually extremely excited about the opportunity. Casey was looking for a Social Media intern which is ideal for me because of my love for social media websites. I also am extremely interested in marketing which just increased my excitement.
I carefully went through my writing samples the night before trying to pick out specific writings that I have done that related to social media. I think I picked three solid pieces of work that I have done. I also made sure to go through each a few times again checking for any grammatical errors or changes that needed to be made.
I showed up to the interview in business attire about fifteen minutes before my scheduled interview time. I was extremely nervous but I tried my best to stay calm. I think I did fairly well but I was still a little nervous while leaving.
Casey said she would notify me on Monday to inform me whether or not I received the internship. It is late Monday night and I still have not heard from her. Another one of my friends who interviewed with her also said that she has yet to hear from her either. I am guessing she just got extremely busy and forgot. I am very anxious to hear from her because I really want that specific internship. If I could have designed myself an internship it would have been that one.
Fingers crossed I get it. I keep anxiously checking my e-mail!
Interviews can be nerve-racking! What writing/editing samples did you take with you? How/why did you choose them?
ReplyDeleteDid you hear from your potential employer? Did you call or email after Monday to check the status? How about the other editing opportunity you had lined up?
